Frame & Fixing Details

The Slimline 100 with Internal Gutter is secured with heavy-duty wall brackets, fully concealed within the welded aluminium frame for a seamless look.

The frame’s integrated gutter captures rainwater from the 10 mm polycarbonate sheet, directing it forward and allowing controlled discharge from either end. This design delivers both strength and clean lines, with efficient water management built in.

How It's Built

The Slimline 100 with Internal Gutter is built around a fully welded 100x50mm aluminium frame with concealed heavy-duty wall brackets — same proven construction as the standard Slimline 100. What sets this model apart is the integrated front gutter that captures rainwater off the polycarbonate sheet and channels it cleanly out either end of the frame. No visible downpipes. No surface-mounted gutters. Rainwater handled inside the awning itself.

The Slimline 100 with Internal Gutter
Features a cleverly engineered bracket system that’s completely concealed within the frame. Once installed, there are no visible mounting points, giving the awning a seamless, floating appearance against the wall.

This hidden bracket design not only enhances the overall aesthetic but also protects the fixings from exposure to the elements, extending the life of the installation and preserving its clean, modern look. It’s a subtle detail that makes a big difference when you’re aiming for a refined architectural finish.

Installing Your Slimline 100 with Internal Gutter— Overview

The Slimline 100 arrives fully assembled and ready to fix — the frame is welded, the polycarbonate is fitted, and the brackets are included. There is no on-site cutting, no drilling through the frame, and no fabrication required. Everything is completed in our Sydney workshop before it leaves — on site it’s a four step process suitable for builders, awning contractors, and confident DIY self-installers.

Step 1 — Mount the Brackets

fix the left bracket to the wall first, level and square. Measure across to the correct bracket width (frame width minus 10mm) and fix the right bracket. Double check both brackets are level with each other and square to the wall

Step 2 — Slide the Awning Over

are securely mounted directly to the wall or structure.

Step 3 — Set the Pitch

push the rear of the awning up and tilt the front downward to create the correct forward pitch for water runoff. The pitch is pre-engineered into the bracket but can be adjusted on site to suit conditions

Step 4 — Secure and Seal

drive two Tek screws through each side frame into the bracket to lock the awning in place, then finish with a bead of silicone between the awning and the wall to seal out water

The standard Slimline 100 lets rainwater run off the front edge of the polycarbonate sheet — fine for most situations. The Internal Gutter version is designed for installs where you don’t want water cascading off the front: over front doors, walkways, paving, or near windows that would otherwise get wet. The integrated front gutter captures the runoff inside the frame and channels it out either end of the awning, so water exits where you choose, not where it falls.

The 10mm twin-wall polycarbonate sheet is mounted internally within the aluminium frame, sitting slightly back from the front edge. Rainwater that runs off the sheet falls into the integrated front gutter inside the frame. From there, it flows along the gutter and drains out either end of the awning. No visible downpipes, no surface-mounted gutters — all the water management happens cleanly inside the awning itself.

The gutter is open at both ends, so it’s self-clearing for water — there’s no drain trap or pipe to block. Leaves and debris can collect over time, particularly near trees, but the gutter is accessible from the ends for occasional flushing with a garden hose. Same routine maintenance as any external gutter, just at a smaller scale.

Custom widths up to 5 metres and projections up to 1065mm. Every awning is custom-made to size in our Sydney workshop — so your aluminium awning with internal gutter fits the opening exactly, not a standard off-the-shelf size. Same fully welded 100x50mm aluminium frame as the standard Slimline 100, with the integrated gutter built into the front rail.
